The 2026 Kano NPA International Polo Tournament has come to a dramatic close after more than 60 matches filled with fierce competition, comebacks, outstanding horsemanship and unforgettable moments.
This year’s four cup champions are Rumbu (Dangote Cup), Brick Cola (Mrs Cup), Pop Cola (Dantata Cup) and Danmarna (Emir of Kano Cup).
The spotlight fell on the Emir of Kano Cup final, where Danmarna faced defending champions Jos Malcomines, winners in 2023 and 2025. Danmarna raced into a 4–0 lead before Malcomines fought back to trail 4–2 at the end of the first chukker. The defending champions levelled at 4–4 and again at 6–6, but Danmarna found the decisive breakthrough to secure a thrilling 9–8 victory and lift the trophy.
