After more than 44 matches since the 2026 Kano NPA International Polo Tournament got underway, one of the fixtures fans had been waiting for finally took centre stage as Danmarna faced Mangal/MSDB. The contest lived up to its billing, with the momentum shifting as both sides fought for control. Danmarna made the stronger start, racing into a 4–1 lead before Nico calmly converted a 30-yard penalty to stretch the advantage to 5–1. Mangal/MSDB refused to fold, however, fighting their way back and cutting the deficit to just two goals at 7–5. Just when the pressure was beginning to mount on Danmarna, they responded with two quick goals to restore their cushion and eventually saw out the contest with 15-7 victory.
Elsewhere, the Dangote Cup continued to produce plenty of action. Avant Guardian secured a commanding 10–1½ victory over Ilera Zyn Oil, while Ibah Oil & Gas edged Sabiq Farms 3–2½. Gilasoismanaf defeated Ebee Mobile 8–4½, KT SKK and Golden Ranch played 4½–4 , while Rumbu led AA Polo 5–0 after two chukkers before rain interrupted play, leaving three chukkers still to be played. With the tournament now deep into its schedule, the excitement continues to build and the Emir of Kano Cup remains one of the major attractions still ahead.
